Do You Feel Too Busy To Focus On Self-Care?

Are you struggling with your mental health, but feel like you don’t have time to address your needs? Maybe you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or relationship problems, but your life feels too fast-paced for you to slow down, breathe, and focus on your troubles. Your days may consist of long commutes, busy work schedules, and endless deadlines. In the midst of it all, you may wonder: how can I find time to step back and just focus on myself?

Perhaps you’ve thought about therapy, but going to a therapist’s office would just be too great a hurdle. Even so, you still have legitimate mental health needs. Maintaining contact with a professional is essential to greater overall well-being. Through online therapy, you can find time to slow down, breathe, and focus on you amidst the hustle and bustle of your busy life.

Online Therapy: A Practical And Popular Alternative To Traffic

Most of my patients prefer meeting with me face to face; there is an intimacy that is not easily duplicated via telehealth. But we also tend to work together for more than a few months, and patients are likely to come back after a few years when new challenge comes up. Since many people move for work or other reasons every couple of years, this poses a dilemma. After working so hard to develop a relationship with a therapist, it’s hard to start over with someone new. At the same time, you may be too far to drive to see me in person. Online therapy can provide an important bridge.

Additionally, none of us know what the work environments will be in the next couple of years. Many people may not go back to the office at all; others will go back on a rotating basis of 2 or 3 days a week. Having the option to meet both in person and online can help smooth over these transition times. It’s important to find an online therapist that works near where you work or near where you live to maximize your options for meeting in person or online. But I’m happy to work with people that live further away if working with me seems to be the best option.

If you live in the Culver City area and find your desire for self-care impeded by similar roadblocks, I encourage you to connect with me. Working together, I can help you ease your doubts, learn new life skills, and come to love yourself in a new way during these stressful times.

Online Therapy Can Deepen Your Self-Awareness And Renew Your Sense Of Purpose

My online counseling sessions offer a chance for you to explore what’s going on in your life, discuss what you want to change, and, of course, show me your dog (or cat, or toddler, or whatever wonderful life-forms inhabit your home!). I take a frank, honest approach to therapy, but I’m also relaxed, easygoing, and will give you whatever time and space you need to open up about your struggles. While I want to help you overcome the challenges you bring in, my ultimate goal is to deepen your self-awareness and help you thrive. I want you to walk away with a renewed sense of creativity, vision, and purpose—to feel confident in who you are and rejuvenated about what you want to change. Along the way, there will probably be lots of laughter—I laugh often, and, truthfully, rather loudly.

I recognize there are several drawbacks to online therapy, of course. Our bodies communicate in ways that go beyond conscious awareness, which is why communication is sometimes easier when meeting in-person. Nonetheless, online therapy has perks traditional counseling doesn’t. For instance, you have the advantage of engaging in therapy wherever you want——from your car, your yard, your bedroom, or even with your cat or dog.

What’s more, the way I approach online sessions is extremely straightforward, 100% HIPAA compliant, and requires virtually no work on your end. Depending on your preferences, we can conduct our counseling sessions via phone, FaceTime, or Zoom (if Zoom, I’ll send you a link to the session via email). All I need to know is your availability, when you want to meet, and what platform is most convenient for you.

Whether you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, or relationship issues, my approach to online counseling offers a practical, comfortable way to find healing for your emotional needs. Together, we can help you get your life back on track, boost your self-esteem, and resuscitate your vision as you go forward in life.

You may have some questions about e-therapy…

Does online therapy actually work?

In my time in counseling, I have seen people benefit equally from in-person and online sessions. Because you can show me aspects of your home life, it’s easier for me to form a particular kind of understanding regarding who you are. If you opt for therapy via phone, you may find it even easier to get comfortable, since it affords you greater mobility than meeting face-to-face would.

Will my privacy be ensured in online therapy?

Concerns about privacy in this day and age are perfectly legitimate. On my end of things, however, I can guarantee 100 percent privacy. My practice is compliant with HIPAA regulations and the platforms I use ensure no leakage of personal information. On your end, I suggest finding a quiet place where you can communicate freely without fear of anyone hearing our conversations.

Is e-therapy covered by insurance?

You’ll have to check with your insurance company about coverage. During the COVID-19 pandemic, most insurance plans have been covering online counseling services. There is movement afoot to have this become permanent, but you will need to check with your plan. If they do provide this benefit, I can provide a superbill so that you can get reimbursed. Either way, I encourage you to connect with me. By eliminating your stressors and tackling your challenges now, you can free yourself to live joyfully, abundantly, and with a clearer sense of meaning and fulfillment in the years to come.
